Flower power...
I have featured Mary Katrantzou's designs before and I just came across images of her SS12 collection which make my heart beat just that little bit faster. Her use of colour and hyper-realistic prints is striking - flower power is going to be a huge trend - get on board!

But it's an Alaia...
You may have guessed that I absolutely love Alaia. He is an amazing designer that continues to inspire and garner the kind of devotion unmatched by his contemporaries, yet he sits "outside the circle" of fashion. A retrospective of his work "Azzedine Alaia in the 21st century" is currently on display at The Groninger Museum in the Netherlands. Following are examples of his work - a man whose dresses sculpture a womans' body.

Hot chilean shoes...
Barbara Briones is a Chilean shoe designer who manages to combine her love of old world artisans with contemporary design, creating eclectic modern colourful shoes. She began her studies in her native Chile, then moved to Buenos Aires, where she was inspired by the skilled artists working with leather. She completed her studies at the prestigious School of Cordwainers in London, after which she worked for Italian shoe label Ferragamo and later with British label Mulberry. Keep an eye out for her in the future.

Ethereal watercolours...
Cate Parr is an English illustrator who is based in LA, her work has appeared in both editorial and brand contexts. Fashion illustration isn't so common in today's media and especially the use of watercolours which Cate has mastered - her images look vulnerable and dreamy - they take my breath away, enjoy!
