That's Daphne Guinness, the heiress to the Guinness fortune. She's a prominent figure in fashion, a style icon and collector of Haute Couture - she was also a muse to the late Alexander McQueen. She's always dressed in amazing pieces and invariably captures my attention!

Did someone say colour...
Colour blocking is the next big thing come spring, and I will embrace it, even though we Melbournians love to wear black! It can be as subtle as different shades of the one colour or outrageous as wearing various hues together. For those of us that can't go all the way, I suggest teaming a bold colour with black or maybe just having fun with your make-up.

Classic no 3...
The trench coat by Burberry was originally designed for British soldiers to keep the weather elements at bay, and now it has become a chic and fashionable wardrobe staple. It has had many moments on the big screen which has given it more kudos. It is a must have, and there are so many interpretations that, a girl's gotta have it!

Shoe Fetish...
You may have discovered that I love shoes, but then again what girl doesn't? My newest discovery is United Nude a modern shoe label founded in 2003 by Rem Koolhaas and Galahad Clark. The brand pushes the boundaries between fashion and art, with a focus on innovative use of materials. Take a look...
Choo please...
Crystel Renn is the star of Jimmy Choo's SS2011 advertising campaign. The pop colors are an indication of what we will be wearing come spring. The photos were taken by Dutch duo Inez & Vinoodh, and I feel they have a Guy Bourdin influence. His shoe campaigns for Charles Jourdan were very provocative and perhaps ahead of their time. I have included a picture of Bourdin's which has a similar feel to this sultry campaign.

It's gotta be red...
These photos have created the desire in me for a hint of red. Whether it's your lipstick, bag or a pair of shoes, it's just got to be red!
South American chic...
Yamila is from Venezuela and I came across her as I was walking down High st Armadale. I just had to stop her and take a picture as she exudes self confidence and has a unique sense of style, and that color!!! She makes fantastic and distinctive jewellery and accessories, and her store is located in The Kings Arcade Armadale.

The soap, The bottle, The legend...
La Compagnie de Provence, soap from Marseille the home of traditional soap-making. The soaps are housed in beautiful bottles with bold graphics. They are a must have in the bathroom.
My current indulgence is Black Jasmine with olive oil.

Transparency Theory...
Looking back at Fall 2011/12 many a designer had shown looks that were sexy, cocktail worthy with a darkly glamorous feel, some may even say "fetish". But one must remember that what is worn underneath is just as important! My favourite looks are: Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, Valentino, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and Vionnet, with La perla thrown into the mix...

Menswear moment...
This winter will see many a lady dressing in man-style clothing, so I was thinking what shoes to pair with this look? I re-discovered my Stephane Kelian spectator pumps, which I purchased in the 90's!
Just gorgeous...

SPOTTED!!
Chanel's make up maestro, Peter Philips has done it again.
Just moments after showing their FW11 collection the next nail polish color sensation is a metallic grey (graphite). So ladies it's off to the salon for a mani/pedi, we just have to wait for it to hit our shores...

Classic no. 1
I have been wearing mascara for many years and have bought every brand under the sun. Every girl needs a tube of mascara and my must have, which I always go back to is that tube of pink and green! It just works.

And then there was...
Lanvin
Mr Elbaz has just shown his latest collection and it is amazing! So sensual, and with all the right feminine elements and pops of color that have dominated the Fall collections.

Mert & Marcus
The photographic duo have shot an amazing editorial spread in Interview magazine. The theme is "china girls" which is very on trend with many designers looking to the east for inspiration. This duo are influenced by the photography of Guy Bourdin, who's images I adore, his color palette and styling has really made an impact on current fashion trends we are witnessing.

Which style shall I choose?
The Artifice SS11 collection by Louis Vuitton is so decadent and lavish, perhaps all three!!!
Oscar Red Carpet Style
Red is a trend that shone through and looked gorgeous on Jennifer Lawrence in a Calvin Klein simple sheath. Silvery/nude tones dominated and looked amazing on Michele Williams in Chanel, Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier, Hilary Swank in Gucci. However, my stand outs were Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture and Mila Kunis in Elie Saab Couture.
