100th anniversaire...

"The marvels of daily life are so exciting; no movie director can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street" Robert Doisneau.
Today is Robert Doisneau's 100th birthday (if he were still with us). He is best remembered for "the kiss", an iconic image of young Parisian lovers. His images were modest, playful and ironic pictures of amusing juxtapositions, mingling social classes and eccentrics in contemporary Paris streets and cafes.

Knit delight...

Piece d'Anarchive is a gorgeous french label designed by sisters Deborah and Priscilla Royer and Virginie Muys. A mixture of Anarchy - as a symbol of disorder and constant questioning and Archive - as an emblem of heritage, savour-faire and the order of the past. Their SS12 collection has this juxtaposition of order and disorder resulting in beautifully creative and wearable knitwear designs. A label to watch!
